Tonight we attended a Business After Hours networking event sponsored by BB&T and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. We try our best to take advantage of each of these opportunities to meet other local business people, to connect with future prospects and referral sources, to learn what companies are out there in the community, and of course, to talk about our business.
Today, we had the pleasure of meeting some new people, and connecting with some familiar faces. The variety of small and medium businesses represented is pretty impressive for Cherokee county, Georgia. Because Inspired 2 Design is an Advertising Agency, we try to learn a little about each person's business, who their customer is, and what their expectation is for the event. If there's time, we also like to talk to them about what advertising they're currently doing in the Atlanta area, and in Cherokee county specifically. We do this to see where their needs are, who we could refer to them, and how we could help them promote their business.
We also look for opportunities in networking to develop symbiotic relationships with other local businesses. For instance, we offer multimedia services, but we don't have our own sound stage here. Tonight we met David from RPM who does. Connecting with this company helps us to provide even better service to our clients looking for multimedia and video for CDs, trade shows, sales meetings, product demos, even commercials. Maybe RPM has need of graphic design, 3D modeling, titles, script writing, or web development -- all of which we can provide to them and their clients. Hence the symbiotic relationship building. This type of connection is good for both companies, but more importantly, it's good for our clients.
Some of the other networking connections we made tonight: Leanne from Decorating Den, Susan and Linda from BB&T, Ernie from Health-Sprout, Marci from A Love of Travel, Angela from Canton Georgia Directory, Michael from Coldwell Banker, Kathy from First Cherokee State Bank, Pat from Northwestern Mutual, Jules from Keller Williams, Sandy from AFLAC, Melody from Just Driver Training, Pell the P.I., and others, including the outstanding Chamber staff. We're very fortunate to have such an active Chamber of Commerce. Their energy, enthusiasm, support, and general good nature make working with them for the local business community here in Cherokee county a real pleasure.
